What is Baptism?

Get to know more about what Baptism is! These are our basic beliefs about this act of obedience and worship!

Baptism is a symbolic act of obedience (an ordinance) following a person's salvation, rather than a requirement for salvation or a means of grace. It is practiced exclusively by immersion for believers who have consciously accepted Jesus Christ. It symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, as well as the believer’s death to sin and resurrection to a new life.
The method is full immersion (dipping the person completely under water), which is believed to best represent the death and resurrection, as well as align with the biblical meaning of "baptize".  Baptism does not save a person; it is a public testimony of a salvation that has already occurred through faith alone.   Baptism is performed in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
